Well, it's Sunday afternoon and shortly, the weekend will come to an end and we'll prepare ourselves for the week ahead. It's been a good weekend. It has been busy, but not as busy as last weekend. Cade played football on Saturday. They lost, but they played good and we were proud of them! It was so hot sitting out there at the football field. What happened to cool weather for football games? From what I can remember, the temps were alot cooler and we bundled up for the games. Ummm, guess there has been alot of "global warming" over the years. LOL!
I have been reading the book, "The Shack" and finished it over the weekend! WOW! Let me just tell you that this book is worth reading. It has given me a whole new perspective on alot of issues in my life. One thing that seems to stick with me is that God truly wants us to forgive others for any wrong doings. Oh, man, that can be so hard....and it was for the main character in the book also. I don't want to say too much about the book because I really want you all to get this book and read it and let it touch your heart like it did for me! It gets pretty deep and some paragraphs I would read over and over again and I would find myself sitting there with tears streaming down my face thinking "oh wow, this is me, this is me." However, one thing that really hit me square in the face is that for us to find the ultimate peace in our life, or any form of closure, we have to forgive those who have wronged us. If God can forgive us, then we must forgive others if we are to live in His likeness. It also goes on to say that through forgiveness, you are not truly expected to ever really "forget" AND you are not required to have a relationship with that person unless you feel it necessary but to forgive is necessary to receive the ultimate peace in your life. I am not saying anymore than that for now....please, read this book. We'll talk more about the book in future blogs. I really feel a sense of peace about myself today after reading that book. It will get next to you, so get ready because you WILL see yourself and your feelings and thoughts in the main character. His tragedy is nothing that I hope to ever experience, but we all have our own tragedies in our lives that this book will relate too and give you an entire newly perspective. Again, I say WOW about this book! "The Shack" -- a MUST READ!!
I am hoping that you all have had a blessed weekend and that you will find a sense of peace in your life as I have found during this weekend. I still have a "long row to plow" but at least I have the sense of achievement of stepping in the right direction. I want you to find that direction also! Be Blessed and know that when you are in a time of despair, God is with you with His arms wrapped around you to protect you and it is your choice if you allow His arms to stay securely around you or if you break the embrace and push away. I am through pushing away! ~~Until Later!
