Back To The Real World

Why is it that you wait forever for vacation time to get here and then you "blink" your eyes and your vacation is OVER! I do think that time moves faster during vacation time! We went to the mountains and enjoy a little cooler temperatures. We were not in the rat race of any big city and it was nice! We spent one day in Cherokee and then the next day we spent having a picnic and visiting Sliding Rock. Cade loves sliding down that huge rock into the deep pool below. I think they estimate the "pond" to be about 9 to 10 feet deep. Of course, the water was pretty cool and it took their breath as they hit the pool of water. Mother and I stayed on the side where there is a little deck built for the observers (or maybe it should be called "for the chicken") and I made many pictures. I'll have to post some later. Then we were told about a place down the road where people could jump off huge rocks into a deep pool of water. All of these places are on the Pigeon River. So, Eddie and Cade about had "fits" until we found the place and YES, my 7 year old child went up on the rocks with his 43 year old (childlike) Father to show us how BRAVE they were. Personally I think it was dumb! LOL! The rocks were about 20 feet above the water. There were alot of other people (dumbies-LOL) there, so they joined right in and 1-2-3 JUMP! There they went. Cade wanted to climb higher with some older boys and I informed him that he was as close to Heaven as I wanted him to be right now!! So, big, bad Mom made him come back down to the lower level (if you can call it a LOWER level). It was a beautiful place and it seems it gives you such an appreciation of God's creations! No human could create anything as beautiful as these places. Down the road a little farther is Looking Glass Falls. It is breath taking! I will have to upload some pictures soon.....if you have never visited these places, you should! It will definatly take the stress away - at least for the moment! ~Until Later~
