How We Look At Things~Response To Anonymous Comment

I received a comment on one of my older blogs about feeling disappointed in others actions and what you expect from people....the comment was from "anonymous". The comment was a quote and said "Genuine kindness is not what we do. It is what we are." by Vernon Howard. I viewed it as a positive comment meaning the kindness that is given must come from within...from the person that you are. A friend of mine read it and said that was not a true statement and that the person that sent that comment needed to have a true definition of the word "kindness"....so, as was told to me (and I can agree) that the word "kindness" is a verb and as we all know, a verb is "action" so not only, should kindness be who we are, it should show in our actions as well.

So, with that being said, I am anxious to hear your opinions on your definition of kindness. Kinda cool to get so many perspectives. It certainly gives you something to think about. Through our disappointments in others kindness (or lack of) no one should be viewed as over sensitive or wrong for having those feelings. I know our expectations of others is not always what we will actually "get" from others, but who doesn't like to know (or be shown) that someone truly cares for you or is concerned for your well being. Thats just being human....not over sensitive.

We all have busy schedules (if you don't, I want to know how you got out of it-LOL) but it doesn't hurt....it only can reward....to show love, compassion, concern for your family or friends. So, take a moment from your daily routine to do that for others......personally, I like knowing that I put a smile on someone's face. Anyway, with all that being said....I'll await your comments. Tell me what you think about "Anonymous' " statement. ~~ Until Later

I was excited to receive by e-mail a response from a dear friend in regards to this blog....and Phil, how true, how true! Thanks for your input and sharing the REAL WORD - scripture-I'm attaching:

"Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?" ~The Apostle Paul, Romans 2:4

If God's kindness was just who He was, and never took action, we'd be in a mess...

(Vernon Howard was a religious pluralist by the way)

HEY WHITLEYS! HEY CADE!!!

I think "Anonymous" has the words "nice" and "kind" confused. You can be a nice person, but to be Kind, you have to actually "show" it, that is why it's called the "Act of Kindness". Action is required. Thinking kind thoughts is all well and good. It will calm and purify your mindstream. But at some point, we have to get up and act on our kind intentions.

Here's a question: If a person truly believes in what they are saying, why leave the comment Anonymous? Just a thought.

Give Cade a hug from me!!!
Love Ya!!!

Okay, this KIND teacher (LOL) was really confused by the anonymous comment but the two above comments were right on! Enjoyed those! I know I have a big mouth sometimes and people never have to guess what I am thinking - but, I do hope that when I kill over, one of the adjectives used to describe me is kind - at least some of the time anyway - ha ha! I agree. You can't just think kind thoughts - it's not called an "ACT of kindness" for nothing.

Quotes about Kindness

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a Kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Leo Buscaglia

Love and Kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.

Barbara DeAngelis

I liked both these quotes about Kindness and wanted to share them with you.
I hope you are having a wonderful day Starla and hope your Mom's arm is feeling alot better.
