It's A Monsoon Outside

So, how many of you had to SWIM to work today? Finally, the rain has stopped - for a short while I am sure - but earlier, it seemed that a monsoon had hit. I was suppose to work in Mecklenburg County today and the particular area that I was going too is highly popular on the news right now because it is UNDER WATER! So, needless to say, Anita and I changed our plans for the day. Thank Goodness! Of course, driving to the office wasn't much fun either. I get a little nervous driving in torential downpours! From what I understand it is suppose to rain off and on all day....so I think I will stay put in the office today. Not a bad idea as long as the computer doesn't mess us like the other day. I am LOST without my worldly communication via e-mail/blog etc.

Cade started second grade on Monday. I can hardly believe he is in second grade. He seems to love his teacher and I am glad since we didn't have the "cream of the crop" last year! (ummm, *chuckle*). Oh and this past Sat. he had his first football game. They lost, but I thought they did really well, especially since it was the first time any of these guys have played tackle football....and of course, to me, number 45 (yeah, Cade) was the cutest football player out there! I was real proud of the boys! Cade was a little down about losing. I guess he is spoiled because last year his flag team didn't lose....and so, it hit him kinda hard. I have a picture of him right after the game and the look on his face is priceless....definatly a picture of disappointment! Oh well, they will work on things and it will get better. From what I have been told (I'm learning all this football stuff) that Cade did a great job and did what he was suppose too.....of course I question that because one time he and this BIG NUMBER 90 were on the line against each other and when the ball was snapped, it was a pushing competition for Cade and this guy. Cade was getting frustrated that this guy was as strong and tough as he was.....the play was being made over along the sidelines and Cade and this guy were pushing each other - still pretty much on the line. I was getting a good laugh and then all of a sudden, you could almost see that red hair catch on flames.....Cade started backing him up....backed that guy all the way from the 50 yard line to about the 30 yard line......think it shook that guy up too because he is probably like Cade and not use to "meeting his match"....however, that cute little redhead of mine prooved HE was the toughest! LOL!! I know, I know, we are there to play football, but that one occasion was pretty much a cool competition of "strength and will power" - LOL!

I'm hoping you all are having a good week so far....pray for me, tomorrow is Thursday....and you KNOW Thursdays worry me - Thursdays have NOT been good to my family lately. However we all are on the mend...THANK GOODNESS! If you get a chance, send a comment to let me know how your week is going...or how your kids are adjusting to a new school year! I love to hear from you. So, for now, I'll close this novel. I hope you all stay dry today or at least have had swimming lessons to endure this weather we are having! Although I must say...THANK YOU GOD for the rain! We did need it....just not so much at one time (*wink*)~~Until Later
