Ever had to learn the hard way just how much of a friend someone really was to you? I have! I have been pleasingly happy and terribly disappointed! However, through the midst of everyday life lessons, I have learned that those who are the true friends will stand BY you, stand WITH you and stand FOR you! All to often we meet people and we we get involved in activities with them and we feel that we are working well together and that a friendship is developing and a bond growing. Then one day you wake up to find that you never were anywhere near being any of those things to that person.........and it hurts! So, what do you do? Me, well, I sulked for a while, let my feelings be hurt and disappointed, moments of anger and then I learned that God was teaching me another Life Lesson....to search for those Unexpected Blessings that He puts in our lives! Even in the middle of adversity, they are there...those unexpected blessings! Make your OWN place in life and don't depend on others to get you there! Do what you feel in your heart is the best thing to do and do it because of that reason, not to gain anything from it like a favor or for that person to like you or let you into their "clique"..doesn't work that way! Also, the main Unexpected Blessing was the spotlight that was shone upon my circle of friends....the REAL ones! WOW, did they stand out! I am so blessed because I know that these other people do these hurtful things to others.....not just me, so it will only be a vicious cycle! For me, I don't have to look very far to find my blessings..........my family and my circle of friends! We all want to fit in in this old world but don't do it at the expense of giving your all to others only to be used and then cast aside.......true friends, those who know Christ in the real way, will say, "don't sit alone, come sit with us".......you don't have to do a thing!
Until later..promise me you'll keep looking for those unexpected blessings!
